BIMI record
A BIMI TXT record starts with v=BIMI1 and usually contains the logo URL in the l= tag.
Check a domain’s BIMI record and see whether the domain is technically ready to publish a brand logo for email services.
A BIMI record is usually published at default._bimi.domain.com. BIMI also normally requires a working and enforced DMARC policy.
BIMI, or Brand Indicators for Message Identification, is an email-related standard that allows a domain owner to publish a brand logo for use alongside email messages. BIMI is published as a DNS TXT record.
BIMI does not make email trustworthy on its own. It works together with email authentication, especially DMARC. In practice, the domain usually needs an enforced DMARC policy such as p=quarantine or p=reject.
A BIMI TXT record starts with v=BIMI1 and usually contains the logo URL in the l= tag.
The l= tag points to an SVG logo. Receiving mailbox providers may use this logo alongside the message.
The a= tag can point to an authority certificate. Some providers may require a verified VMC or CMC certificate.
BIMI usually requires DMARC to be enforced. A domain using onlyp=none is normally not ready for BIMI display.
If a BIMI record exists, the result shows the raw record, logo URL and possible authority URL. The tool also checks the DMARC policy because BIMI usually does not work without an enforced DMARC configuration.
If no BIMI record is found, the domain has not published BIMI for the selected selector. If BIMI exists but DMARC is still p=none, the domain is usually not ready for BIMI from the perspective of receiving providers.
p=none.l= logo URL.BIMI should be checked together with email authentication records.
